Recently I have been reading "Little House in the Big Woods" by Laura Ingalls Wilder to the kids. Tonight we were reading it before bedtime and Luke was playing on the floor with his monster trucks as I read (he didn't want to listen) - Jozie was sitting beside me. We were at the part of "The Story of Grandpa's Sled and the Pig". The story is rather exciting - Sunday being a very solemn day devoted to reading the Bible and thinking about the Lord. Luke didn't find this very interesting until we got to the part where Grandpa and his two brothers decided to take out their new sled as their father slept in his chair. As the boys slid faster and faster down the hill the story climaxed rather quickly, and I looked up to see Luke starring at me with eyes wide and his mouth even wider - and was very soon on the couch next to me. I couldn't help but laugh when I saw that look on his face (but he wasn't listening). We all sat together on the couch for the remainder of the story and enjoyed it thoroughly. I truly hope that he decides to read this story for himself someday.
At times I really have a hard time saying "Yes, I will take time out of my busy day to read to you". But when I do, I find it very worth while, more worth while than whatever I had in mind to do in the first place. I know, just by the joy that I bring them, that some day they will do the same for their kids.

When were you going to tell my about your blog girl? LOL
Just last night I tried to read Farmer Boy to the boys (they weren't very interested). It was kind of funny because whenever I said Eliza Jane, Elijah thought I was saying Elijah!
